GreenPower
GPJN15 Motorized Type is an indoor AC earthing switch for 12, 24 and 40.5 kV switchgear in three-phase, 50/60 Hz systems. It provides the earthing function during maintenance, with a built-in motor drive for opening and closing and provision for manual operation. The series includes 31.5 kA versions at all three voltage levels, plus 40 kA and 50 kA versions at 12 kV.
The drive assembly acts on the earthing-switch shaft in both directions. Select the AC or DC control supply to suit the switchgear control circuit.
The mechanism also allows manual operation. Cabinet integration requires the connecting rod and interlock parts matched to the motorized arrangement.
A motor, reducer, bevel gears and control board form the drive assembly. Reversing the drive turns the operating shaft to open or close the earthing switch.
The spring stores and releases energy as the mechanism passes its dead point, driving the earthing knives into the fixed contacts. The mechanism supports both manual and motorized operation.
Control supply options are AC 220 V, DC 220 V and DC 110 V. Specify the required supply when ordering and match it to the cabinet control circuit.
Select the voltage and short-time withstand version together. The 40 kA and 50 kA versions shown below are 12 kV models.

Specify the required control supply and confirm the motor and control configuration for the selected switch.
The model includes the rated voltage, D for motorized operation, the short-time withstand current and a phase-spacing suffix. Choose the mounting arrangement from the dimensions for that model.
| Model Series | Phase Spacing | Installation Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| GPJN15-12/D31.5 | 150 / 165 / 210 / 250 / 275 mm | Check the mounting and busbar connection dimensions for the selected spacing. |
| GPJN15-12/D40 | 210 / 275 mm | Use the corresponding D40 outline and busbar connection dimensions. |
| GPJN15-12/D50 | 210 / 275 mm | Use the corresponding D50 outline and busbar connection dimensions. |
| GPJN15-24/D31.5 | 210 / 275 mm | An insulating partition is required at 210 mm phase spacing. |
| GPJN15-40.5/D31.5 | 280 / 300 / 350 / 360 / 400 mm | An insulating plate between phases is required at 300 mm phase spacing. |
Download the catalog for the full outline, mounting-hole and busbar connection drawings. Check the operating-shaft position, linkage travel and cabinet clearances before finalizing the installation.
Use the GreenPower connecting rod matched to the motorized mechanism. The linkage differs from the manual arrangement; an unsuitable rod can overload and damage the motor.
Where rear-door interlocking is required, use the matched rear-door mechanism and travel switch. The motor operating supply must be interrupted while the rear door is open.
Use auxiliary contacts from the associated electrical equipment to interrupt the earthing-switch operating supply when operation is blocked by the interlock circuit.
Not exceeding 1000 m above sea level.
-25°C to +45°C.
Daily average below 95%; monthly average below 90%.
Not exceeding degree 8.
Keep the installation free from corrosive or explosive gases, vapours and deposits, and from dust or contamination that can impair insulation.
The installation location must be free from frequent severe vibration.
The catalog references GB1985-2004 and IEC 62271-102 for high-voltage AC disconnectors and earthing switches. Confirm the required standard and edition for your project during technical selection.
Send the rated voltage, short-time withstand duty, phase spacing and control supply. Include the cabinet layout and rear-door or electrical interlock requirements so we can confirm the drive, linkage and mounting arrangement.
