Maintenance Earthing
Installed as the earthing function in high-voltage switchgear, the switch supports the grounding arrangements required for equipment maintenance.
GreenPower
GPJN15-12kV is an assembled indoor high-voltage AC earthing switch for three-phase, 50/60 Hz power systems. It provides earthing protection during switchgear maintenance and has short-circuit making capability. The series includes 31.5 kA, 40 kA and 50 kA short-time withstand versions, with model-specific durations, phase spacings and installation arrangements.
Installed as the earthing function in high-voltage switchgear, the switch supports the grounding arrangements required for equipment maintenance.
Choose 31.5 kA for 4 s, 40 kA for 4 s or 50 kA for 3 s. Each version has its own making-current rating and installation options.
Making-current ratings of 80, 100 and 125 kA correspond to the 31.5, 40 and 50 kA withstand versions. Select the combination required by the switchgear fault duty.
Multiple phase spacings support different switchgear layouts. Available spacings vary by withstand version, so confirm the model and mounting arrangement together.
The earthing switch can be ordered with or without a live indicator device. Specify the required indicator model when this option is needed.
The withstand duration and short-circuit making current are specific to each version. Use one complete specification column when selecting the earthing switch.

Insulation values apply phase to earth and between phases. The 50 kA version lists a 1-minute power-frequency withstand test.
The model suffix identifies phase spacing in millimetres. For example, GPJN15-12/31.5-275 identifies the 12 kV, 31.5 kA version with 275 mm phase spacing.
| Model Family | Phase Spacing (mm) | Standard Flexible Connection Length |
|---|---|---|
| GPJN15-12/31.5 | 150 / 165 / 180 / 200 / 210 / 220 / 230 / 250 / 275 | 240 mm |
| GPJN15-12/40 | 150 / 210 / 220 / 230 / 250 / 275 | 240 mm |
| GPJN15-12/50 | 210 / 230 / 250 / 275 | 500 mm |
Check the complete outline, mounting-hole and busbar-joint drawings in the catalog before finalizing the installation. For the 31.5 kA version at 150 mm phase spacing, add an insulating plate between phases. Confirm other spacings, longer flexible connections and special dimensions with GreenPower.
Determine the operating direction while facing the product with the insulators above and the movable blades below. Confirm this reference orientation before specifying the shaft side.
With the product viewed in the reference orientation, the main shaft on your left identifies the left-operating arrangement. Specify this direction in the order.
With the product viewed in the same reference orientation, the main shaft on your right identifies the right-operating arrangement. Check the required shaft side against the switchgear layout.

The catalog references GB1985-2004 and IEC 62271-102 for high-voltage AC disconnectors and earthing switches. Specify the required standard and edition for your project during technical confirmation.
Please specify the withstand version, phase spacing, left or right operating direction, flexible connection length and any live indicator requirements. Include auxiliary switch quantity, terminal lead-out requirements and special site or installation conditions where applicable.
