Product Overview

GN30 is an indoor rotary disconnector available in 12 kV and 24 kV versions. Two groups of insulators and contacts are mounted above and below a common three-phase frame, and rotating contacts open or close the circuit. The GN30-12(D) series covers 630-3150 A; the GN30-24(D) series includes 400, 630, 1000 and 1250 A versions. D-type models add an earthing blade.

Rotary Contact Construction

The contacts rotate within an upper-and-lower arrangement on a shared frame. This layout keeps the switch compact for installation in indoor switchgear.

No-Load Circuit Isolation

The disconnector provides circuit isolation when no load current is flowing. Select it for isolation duty and coordinate operation with the circuit breaker or other load-switching device.

Key Features

12 kV And 24 kV Versions

Select the voltage version first, then the required current rating. The current ranges and installation dimensions differ between the two series.

D-Type Earthing Versions

GN30-12D and GN30-24D add earthing blades to the corresponding standard switch. Specify the earthing arrangement with the required model and switchgear layout.

Switchgear Or Separate Installation

The rotary disconnector can be installed with indoor switchgear or used separately. Match the support, operating linkage and terminal positions to the installation.

Short-time, peak and insulation withstand ratings for GN30-24(D) must be confirmed for the selected configuration.

Standard And Earthing Configurations

GN30-12 And GN30-24

The standard versions use rotary contacts to make or break the isolation gap. Choose the voltage and current version to suit the circuit and installation space.

GN30-12D And GN30-24D

The D versions include an additional earthing blade. Confirm the blade arrangement, operating sequence and required interlocks with the selected assembly.

Installation And Operating Interfaces

Mounting And Terminals

The catalog includes separate outline and installation drawings for GN30-12(D), GN30-24 and GN30-24D. Use the drawing matching the voltage, rated current and earthing version.

Operating Linkage

Specify the operating mechanism and linkage arrangement with the switch. Check the mounting surface, terminal connections and full contact travel against the switchgear layout.

Service Conditions

Ambient Temperature

-10°C to +40°C for the general indoor configuration.

Altitude

Not exceeding 1000 m above sea level.

Relative Humidity

Daily average not exceeding 95%; monthly average not exceeding 90%.

Water-Vapour Pressure - 12 kV

The 12 kV section specifies daily average up to 2.2 kPa and monthly average up to 1.8 kPa.

Seismic Intensity - 24 kV

The 24 kV section specifies a limit of degree 8.

Installation Environment

Indoor locations without fire or explosion hazards, serious pollution, chemical corrosion or severe vibration.

The 12 kV section also lists a -25°C lower limit for cold-region arrangements. Confirm this requirement separately; the normal ambient range above applies to the general configuration.
